Some of Joe Strummer’s tape collection… Another musician gone way too soon… I wish he was still here to hear his thoughts… Although much like Allen Ginsberg, Ken Kesey, and more recently, Steve Silberman and David Crosby, there is a part of me that is glad they don’t have to suffer the current dumpster fire… Joe Strummer’s memory keeps the passion burning to help each other live peacefully and to not be afraid of bully assholes who think they run the world…

Couldn’t resist reading this one after seeing Scorsese documentary… Really well put together…You can hear his voice in his prose… Kind of high end jet set movie star partying and a “lost weekend year or two” leading up to the filming of Raging Bull… I guess there were a lot of resentments or bad feelings about Robbie Robertson after the Last Waltz but the man is a great storyteller and great songwriter and now all of the Band have passed on and we are left with crazy history and awesome music…

Today makes 49 days since Bob Weir passed into the Bardo. In Tibetan Buddhism, the process of passing through the bardo from one life to the next, in most all cases, takes at the most 49 days. It may happen much quicker and in some very rare cases, a little longer, but by 49 days, they have been reborn. Even if you have no interest in Buddhism, if you are a fan of Bobby, take just a second today to give thanks and wish him happiness and joy, where ever Bobby may now be… Om Mani Padme Hung

RE: https://mstdn.social/@Ogmin/116159713130005714 Very nice quote from Ven. Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche… Or as someone else would later express: (Pigpen & later Bobby) “Turn on your Lovelight” “…and leave it on!” I am a hopefully humble student and took refuge with Khenchen Palden and his brother Ven. Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche… Thank you starry deer crocodile!

“This is the room of the wolfmother wallpaper.” And this is a humble suggestion to all who have not read this book to do so and if you read Skinny Legs and All a long, long time ago…Now is a real good time to revisit the ideas in this wonderful tale… Although I was hoping he had another book coming, he left us with so much incredible, inquisitive, playful writing…
