In part because of health challenges and in part because of all of the immense losses of the past year, I&#39;m finding it so difficult to care about CONvergence #CVG2026 volunteering this year. But I made myself do some stuff this month. (Context: virtually all of my volunteering happens outside of the actual convention itself.)

ADHD/face blindness pro tip: Don&#39;t ever say, &quot;nice to meet you&quot;. Instead, say, &quot;happy to know you.&quot; That way if you&#39;ve already met in the past it still applies. Now you can be super slick like me in this specific circumstance. I&#39;m 40 and full of this kind of practical wisdom now.

Being gifted in memory means you carry things with you in ways most people don&#39;t. It requires a higher skill level of emotional processing to deal with in a healthy, non-toxic way.

Prediction: When venture capitalists stop subsidizing AI to the degree it has been, tokens will get very, very expensive and every company will give a directive to eliminate as much non-essential AI as possible. When I talk to a person my age or older who seems to have the same opinions that I had when I was a teenager, I kind of just stop listening to them. There&#39;s no way I can shove 20+ years of growth and learning into that conversation anyway.
