Playing with AI to get a few bars of thematically relevant music for the intro to a video about script and language politics during the breakup of the Soviet Union, and I have accidentally made two disturbingly catchy Russian nationalist synth pop anthems.

I decided to follow Formula 1 racing this year, for the first time in a long while, so have been watching recent episodes of the ‘Drive to Survive’ series to get familiar with the returning teams and drivers. My longterm plan for the coming weeks was to fly to the UK, attend the WAVE conference at Cambridge, meet up with Fiona in London to do some research together, see friends and family, then go to Leiden and Den Haag, meet more friends and this year’s KABK students, visit the Louwman car museum, and after take a road trip through Belgium and into France, spending Easter at Bruges, and making pilgrimages to the Menin Gate and the Canadian memorial at Vimy.
