well this a project that absorbed way more time than I planned. mcp23017 and encoders to control raspberry pi running #Zynthian. turns out the only solid core wire I had on hand was just red or 0.1mm magnet wire. but it's 99% done. just need the ground bus, but thats tomorrow's problem.

I know once upon a time I had an sdmmc breakout board, but after digging through all of the bins/bags/boxes/buckets and other b-containers it is simply not present. So guess I'm ordering a couple. Blerg. I recently got a hothouse daisy seed based guitar pedal, and I want to turn it into a looper, so I'm intending on adding an sdcard breakout as well as midi-in so I can hopefully pass a midi clock to it and quantize the loops.(We'll see if I can actually code this idea.......

My phone has a "magnifier" app to use the camera as a magnifying glass. I wonder what I use it most for.....

For anyone that may be on Fedor43 and running into build issues, apparently there's an issue with arm-none-eabi-gcc-cs that fails to properly cross-compile. You have to force it to update to the "rawhide" build temporarily which has the fix, until the fix is pushed to main. Details found here of someone having the same issue building for the Pi Pico. https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=393796

Finally going to call my DIY #Zynthian "Done". Just did a little jam with it. Pretty sweet to have drums, synth, and an entire guitar effects chain including amp modeler and cabinet IR all in a single module, and able to record with it. Still a lot to learn and a long way to go, but now it makes noise. And I can run the whole thing on a battery, which is pretty sweet.

Does anyone know of a good audio focused tutorial/lesson/course on opamps? I'm rusty since school, and honestly was never that great at analog. I'm looking on setting up a good instrument level input, a balanced mic input, and a few line level inputs into a 32bit DAC. The DAC has an example buffer opamp for input matching, but I'm struggling for info on preamps(more specifically the instrument level input)
