  Oh joy, great start to my work week. Sole person for the week doing all tasks. I started at 05:15 and zero issues. Around 08:20 it went into the electronic septic tank. Ten to fifteen minute response time for anything that needed the network. I did what I know we would be asked. I rebooted the system.   Upcoming Linux tasks. Downloaded and made a bootable USB with the latest #mxlinux. Old laptop backed up and ready to convert. I have to try out the new version and then how well WINE works and for one of the online games I play. If it all goes well the laptop will be upgraded from Windows 10 to #mxlinux

  I will be so glad when the members are back from leave and we get the new person up-to-speed. Multiple Impact Assessments for several Change Requests and Request For Change. Regular on-call tasks. Forty-eight (and count) security requests. Multiple questions on several subjects for the system.   Right now I really, really, really wish I knew a lot more French. Why? We had a H/W upgrade scheduled for this weekend. Put in holds for our production schedule to ensure that after this evening finishes nothing will start until we finish our tests. Walked through what we are doing, when, how and WHY.   No kidding! For me it is nausea and diarrhea at least twice a month.   I guess my work laptop will need to have a catastrophic failure before it will be replaced. Request for replacement was denied. It was supposed to be a new machine, when I arrived 'sorry, your laptop was assigned to someone else. Here is a refurbished model almost at end of life'. Multiple black screens.   I am hoping that the mythical course at work starts soon. Too many people have been voluntold they are doing a special job and maybe (rarely) their replacement trains them and hands over the SOPs. Several times a week we hold informal one-on-one 30 minute classes on how to do the job and provide SOPs and cheat sheets at the end of the session. Last year I handed over a copy of the SOPs and cheat sheets along with our internal security SOP for them to start building a course. We keep hearing...

  I love the 'stability' of WIN11. Machine locked again and won't respond to [CTRL][ALT][DEL]. I don't know if it is because this is an older laptop or WIN11, but it is annoying when it happens a few times a month.
