  After years mostly playing around on budget VPSes it's wonderful seeing how much load you can throw at a normal 8-year-old bare metal PC without weird I/O bottlenecks

  Past me thought it would be "good for consistency" if the test and prod Postgres servers used the same creds and DB name. Today I started using the same machine for dev and prod and you can guess the rest. (No, no important data even in prod, just slow to recalculate - I would've had a backup otherwise.)

  I have to admire FSF's optimism in emailing (I assume) every Australian in their CRM (twice) that there's going to be a 1hr meetup in the outer suburbs of Sydney. 1000km away.

  I learnt only this week that you can install a special Bluetooth Log profile on an iPhone and trigger an analytics dump that includes full HCI logs. Incredibly useful for debugging weird stuff that's invisible at the high level Core Bluetooth API.
