After years mostly playing around on budget VPSes it's wonderful seeing how much load you can throw at a normal 8-year-old bare metal PC without weird I/O bottlenecks

Past me thought it would be "good for consistency" if the test and prod Postgres servers used the same creds and DB name. Today I started using the same machine for dev and prod and you can guess the rest. (No, no important data even in prod, just slow to recalculate - I would've had a backup otherwise.)

I learnt only this week that you can install a special Bluetooth Log profile on an iPhone and trigger an analytics dump that includes full HCI logs. Incredibly useful for debugging weird stuff that's invisible at the high level Core Bluetooth API.

My superpower/achilles heel is that I can only write in the same florid prose that I use when speaking out loud so I will never be able to accidentally sound like ChatGPT

"The game" except you lose every time you recognise that bland black lettering of GPT image generation in some picture on the internet
