I’ve been out for a coffee with a friend, and there was NO CAKE! Disappointing. Anyway, the river was looking very fine this morning, and it’s only 20c. But still, no cake *sad face*

Ten minutes left of my parcel delivery window, and the tension is unbearable. There was a diagram on my tracking page showing how many stops away the driver was, but that has mysteriously disappeared, so I have no idea where they are.

Maybe mute me for a bit if you’re sick of my parcel saga… Another text update, this time claiming they were unable to access the address to make the delivery. I don’t know what address they were trying to access, because our postie has just delivered our normal post with no problem. I’ve sent their useless customer service people (AI bots?) yet another stiffly worded email. There seems to be no other way of contacting them.

And now we're back to square 1, we have your parcel, we'll let you know when it's out for delivery. Great.

New month, new NT scone of the month. August is blueberry and oat, with a drizzle of white chocolate #Food #Cake

It’s attempt no. 3 to get my parcel delivered today. Whether or not it will arrive is anyone’s guess. I actually hope DHL send me one of those How Did We Do emails, so I can tell them exactly how they did.

Parcel was delivered! It was well outside the time slot they gave us, but still. Delivered!

It’s very wet here, where did that come from? We’re heading south to visit my mother today, shere it will be less wet, and much warmer.

We left home this morning in drizzle and 17c. We’re now in Lincolnshire where it’s 28c and feels like a sauna. I’m hoping this means my mother will actually have turned off her central heating.

My mother is too hot. Finally, definitive proof that climate change is real.

We have very strange weather here today, unpleasantly humid, but also very windy. I went out for a bike ride regardless, and saw some very glossy black cows. #northumberland #Cycling

I washed the car yesterday so obviously this morning it has been crapped on by something the size of a vulture.

A bonanza of wildlife on my walk today. Photo 1, a young fox. Photo 2, a hare. #CrapNaturePhotography #northumberland

I had a lovely long walk today, partly sunny, partly cloudy. Crucially, it was much less humid than the past few days. #Walking #Northumberland

I took the bike out for a spin today after its service. It’s running really well, the gear changes are much smoother, and the annoying rattle has been eliminated. Nice afternoon for it. #Cycling #BikeTooter #northumberland

Sheep waiting for the party to start at Barrowburn village hall. I didn’t have the heart to tell them it’s not been used for years. #northumberland

I went on a guided walk yesterday up to The Cheviot via Hen Hole. The weather was foul, but despite appearances, a good time was had by all. #Walking #northumberland

Can anyone help with identifying this object please? Found on a beach in Fife, Scotland. It’s very light, definitely not a stone. I was wondering if it could be part of the spine of a cetacean? #AskFedi
