  @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org it's a cover of a cover. There are probably hundreds of covers, but John Cale significantly reworked Cohen's original and struck lightning with it. Almost everything that came after was based on Cole's version. Even Cohen absorbed a lot of it in his later concerts. (He also famously said that there was no point in anyone covering it again, after k.d. lang's performance at the Vancouver Olympics)

  Starting day four of nonstop staring at the ground. Had a detached retina laat week which led to a vitrectomy. Two weeks I gwt to sit at home, looking straight down, not reading excessively. Ugh.
