@lexfri it looks like I’ve been promoted by the @overcastfm transcription. Do I have to write my own jokes, or is there a guide somewhere?

Don’t know how else to describe it, but these taste the wrong shape.

    Emily Wilson is right. #TheOdyssey

I’ve realised what I was feeling the whole way through #TheOdyssey It felt distinctly un-epic. Almost everything felt small and, somehow, low budget. I now know what it was reminding me of: Monty Python and the Holy Grail. But a lot less funny.

@robinince disgusted on your behalf, Robin. Have made sure to remove the subscription from my podcast player, wouldn’t want even one accidental download to make them think this was a good idea.

Just watched the biggest lie of a YouTube video I’ve ever seen. “What if I told you you could make fresh baguettes for breakfast in 5 minutes?”, and then proceeded to have a 25 minute baking step and a 10 HOUR proving period.

For no reason I can clearly determine, Hot Wheels have done a collaboration with Pantone.

It’s funny how the trophy, the ball, and his head differ only in colour.

I hope whoever in the EU mandated the bottle lid staying attached thing stubs their toe on a regular basis.

Not sure why I continue to be surprised that hot baths on hot days leave me very hot. 🛁

I love that you can get a book delivered to your local Waterstones for collection with no more than “yeah, I’ll totes come and pay for that in the shop”.

Reading Terry Pratchett’s The Wee Free Men to the bairn and feel like I’m committing some kind of hate crime every time I try to do a Nac Mac Feegle line in a Scottish accent. Five years living there clearly didn’t rub off on me.

Holy crap, Siri AI with onscreen context is the real deal.

This is an astonishing page listing outbreaks of foodborne illnesses. Everyone gets a small section with a few entries at most. Except the US. It has a link to its own dedicated page, grouped by decade. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_foodborne_illness_outbreaks

A surprising amount of blood is coming out of my hand.

Lucky I didn't just trust SiriAI on this one…

If Apple’s forthcoming Neuromancer TV show doesn’t start with a voiceover saying “The sky above the port was the colour of television, tuned to a dead channel” there’s going to be riots.

First “oh that’s neat” experience with onscreen contextual awareness with SiriAI. Wife texted (see attached) asking if we had something (we didn’t) and I just said “Siri, add that to the shopping list” and it worked out what “that” was from what was onscreen and pop it into the shared list in reminders. Groundbreaking? Probably not, but cool to see what a more natural human/computer interface looks like.
