    “Presidential Alert” Not only is it wrong, but the name of the warning is stupid. Not that “Prime Minister Alert” would have been better.     Yeah, this is what I tried to tell people in the last election who refused to vote at all. But some people decided that it was completely impossible to vote for Kamala, even if they hated Trump, and would either refuse to vote at all or vote for a third party, both of which benefitted Trump.

  • AI in marketing?

    Companies keep pushing AI as something positive, in increasingly stupid ways. From the SAAB JAS-39 Gripen E fighter supposedly having AI, to the Sony A7R VI having AI auto focus, and other weird applications. As a resonably logical person who works in IT, I can see the Gripen E having the space, energy and general computing resources to run a local AI model, but the Sony A7R VI? I am mashing X hard on that one! How much of AI bullshit is just machine learning and just older tech we have...

    Here people actually tend to dim their lights before blinding others, it is not uncommon to approach the top of a hill and see the light from an oncoming car dim before you see the lights. High beams during daytime is not really an issue here, I have driven since 2023 (driven a LOT), and have only seen it a few times.
