I have a weird problem with #3DPrinting Whenever I print things that should screw into other things, they don't fit. For example with OpenGrid, when I print the MultiConnect snap and the screw that goes into it, I need to scale it down by 10% to be able to screw it in. Is this normal?

That was a heavy episode, with a heated discussion based on what Linus Torvalds said about AI in Linux. The crew has differing opinions about AI, it's cost (environmental, ethical) and actual usefulness. Personally, I am much closer to Joe's side of the argument than Graham's. I highly recommend to listen to it and make your own opinion. https://latenightlinux.com/late-night-linux-episode-396/

I have started a new blog. It's called Słoma i Słońce (Straw and the Sun), and it will be about other than computers and IT. It will be about gardening, solarpunk, climate change, politics, DIY, living in the countryside. And it's in Polish because there I want to write about local things for a local audience. But I am sharing it here as well, because maybe someone will still want to check it out, and at least the images speak for themselves. I am selfhosting it on a Raspberry Pi pow...

Seriously, what happened to Google Translate? Now translating a single word can take even something like ten seconds, and the quality feels worse. (That is a rhetorical question, I know exactly what is wrong)

Excellent news. Lignite is one of the worst, most environmentally harmful ways of producing energy, and turning the mining area into a recultivated tourist attraction will restore most of the harm it caused. https://tvpworld.com/94468318/polands-largest-open-pit-mine-belchatow-to-become-giant-artificial-lake

Most of my bots have not been working through yesterday, because I was sure I don't need Docker anymore on my VPS and I removed it. Narrator: Indeed he needed Docker on his VPS.

I used to run octoprint on a Raspberry Pi, and there everything worked fine. I moved to a Wyse 5070 and there the printing also works, but most times the webcam feed looks like this. The deployment has been the same on both platform, through Docker. Any suggestions, dear fedicians? #3dPrinting #OctoPrint

I just realized one thing: I totally stopped watching IT Youtube. I used to watch that LTT news channel, some Gamers Nexus, Jeff G, Craft Computing, Explaining Computers, and now I can't be bothered to watch any of it.

New blog post! This time it's about procrastination, networking, and most of all about configuring MikroTik devices to work as NATless Access Points. This blog post was long in the making, but eventually I sat down and wrote it in one go based on the notes I was making along the way. And I hope it will be useful for homelabbers and other people interested in network devices. @homelab https://stfn.pl/blog/97-mikrotik-ap-without-nat/ #homelab #networking #mikrotik #blog

I think I decided. I will be moving my #fosstodon account here. There are still some technical preparations I need to do, and some research. My goal is to migrate my Fosstodon account into this one. I hope migrating an account into another that has existed for some time is not a problem? I haven't seen any warning in the docs so far. If the migration breaks I will still have my @stfn account :)

Wow, this Astrobin Image of the Day is extremely cool! It shows how Proxima Centauri, our nearest star, is moving through the night sky over the years. Since 2011 it has moved much less than the size of the Moon, but it can be observed with the right telescopes. The night sky is not static, things change even in the timespan of human lives. https://fedi.stfn.pl/@astrobin_iotd/statuses/01KQAGH7WV143SKC62VS9QR2TM #astronomy
