I’m pretty sure the Gen Z stare is just a new version of the Gen X “da fuc?”, though we would add it to a shit post thread in AIM or Jabber rather than communicate it directly. It’s possible Gen Z is are better at transparent business communication.

Just read a thing about how the song “Home” is the prime example of what GenZ calls “Millennial Cringe” and… fair

I can’t believe in all of this time we still haven’t found a better way to market on the internet than blocking the thing you came to see with something else a moment after you load the page.

Violence is never acceptable, but bullying has a way of summoning it. So tired of people don’t see the connection between “owning the libs” and political violence. Take some responsibility.

I’d say Ricky Gervais is more of a nihilism advocate than a comedian at this point

I've automated my dev workflow with a zsh function that ties together git worktrees + Linear + Claude Code. One command now: parses Linear ticket from branch name → creates worktree → auto-claims ticket via GraphQL → copies dev assets (node_modules, .env, etc) → opens Claude Code and Zed. I can tackle 1-3 bug fix, prototype, or otherwise simple tasks concurrently (sometimes up to 5 for straightforward work). 🧵

Crazy idea, but hear me out: What if this technology is amazing but not in the way some thought and it was a mistake to stop hiring entry level talent for the last few years.

We’ve come to a point where the only thing in the premise of Fallout that’s hard to believe is the zombies and their ability to find and access their wonder-drug

This issue of GarbageDay made me start to consider the possibility that NOFX "You can't play this song on the radio" is a blueprint for art in the AI age. Add poison pills to your art. https://www.garbageday.email/p/the-only-taboo-left-is-copyright-infringement

Kevin Roose on The Daily: AI co workers at top AI companies now "supervise agents, set them off toward tasks, go get lunch and come back and the work is done." True for people making prototypes and hobby projects. Not the signal to use when staffing teams or planning careers today.

I wrote a bit on rolling my own 🦞bot because I have trust issues when it comes to root access on my machine https://standardpixel.com/blog/2026/02/26/rolling-my-own-bot.html

The new Zed Editor terms of service include “You must be 18 or older to use Zed”. I assume this is because of the chat-bot. Teenagers would have to technically lie about their age to use this editor. I wonder how that would have changed my vibes around coding when first started at 14.

A well documented design system is the unsung hero of the agentic code era

XFinity sent me a 1-10 “how likely are you to recommend us” survey in response to my 🙃 cancellation call. I’d consider an honest 0, but I bet they’d translate that to a poor job by the agent who did a great job.
