  The 'A' glyph from the font "MrBedford-Regular.ttf" rendered in a font creation tool, and the points from it rendered in ASCII from my program. The "gotcha" for me was the `IS_SAME_OR_POSITIVE` flags in the `glyf` table. TT fonts store their points as relative to the previous point. So each "point" is a delta value.
