Radio corner has expanded with another dongle max. The left is for Thread and the right is for Zigbee.

First thread device I’ve setup is an IKEA BILRESA for individual blind control.

The IKEA BILRESA buttons report button presses over matter in a weird way. Single button presses get reported twice in home assistant. I'm not sure if this is a bug on IKEA's side or if these are meant to be button down and button up events.

Current dining room controller setup in the simulator. Added the individual blind controls today.

Dear IKEA, why on god's green earth do you only sell a multi-pack of BILRESA in colours? Please give me a three pack of white.

This is how I adapt zemismart blinds on to the blinds in my house. It’s just two M4x20mm bolts and hex nuts to space off the provided bracket.

Having some range issues with one of my zigbee blind issues. Nothing $30 on aliexpress can’t fix.

Dissapointingly the IKEA MYGGSPRAY's lux sensor is both inaccurate and slow. Time to tear it down to see if it improves when exposed directly to light.

Playing around with LibreELEC and Kodi on a Raspberry Pi 4 as a Jellyfin client for the TV. Over the past month or so the Jellyfin app for WebOS has basically been unusable and I can’t figure out why. So this is my solution. I do have a DIY Steam PC attached to the TV too but its GPU fan is annoyingly loud for TV and movie watching.

Consumers surely feel much safer knowing that their backdoors are made in the USA. https://au.pcmag.com/wireless-routers/116685/the-fcc-just-banned-the-sale-of-new-wi-router-models-made-outside-us

Wet bread wrapped inside. Dry noodles left outside, placed casually.

I've been testing out music assistant more and more. I think that Tidal is the best provider currently. It has an official API, decent library and good encoding. Apple Music, Spotify or Youtube Music all fail at one of those criteria.

ESPHome weekly round up. First up is probably the smallest Sendspin speaker amplifier from user RealDeco. It uses a ESP32-S3-Zero [1] and a MAX 98357A breakout board [2]. This thumbnail sized device turns any powered speaker in your house into a smart speaker capable of multi-room synchronised audio. See reply for a video demo. On the metro home I was thinking about how the new extension is ripe for a food crawl. Banh Cuon Ba Oanh at Marrickville No. 1 BBQ House at Campsie Pho Hoang at Bankstown You could throw in some middle eastern options at lakemba and punchbowl too.

I helped to run a focus group this week in a noisy, public environment. Normally we do this in a quiet meeting room which has mics everywhere. So to record audio I bought a DJI Mic Mini kit (on sale rn!) [1] and 3D printed some handles. This is the "flat" option from [2]. I like this handle design because it uses the mechanical clip of the mics to latch on. Most other handles rely on the magnets.
