1. Had a long chat with my daughter about every topic we could think up. We've always been close and it's so comforting that it's continued well into her adulthood. 2. Saw the cats licking and grooming each other and then snuggling to combat the cold. They used to do this all the time but it's rare now they're fully grown. 3. Survived my night class even though my sugars were out of control. Just wanted to curl up and sleep but I hid it well enough. #3goodthing #threegood...

Call me naive, idealistic and overly optimistic but I've always believed that the vast majority of humanity want the same peace, fairness, liberty and continued access to decent living standards. Unfortunately, that loud and entitled minority who just want everything to favour themselves continue to dominate and control how the rest of us live, denying us all these things. At some point in history, this has to stop! It has been and will always be a ridiculous state of affairs. #antigree...

It's so cold here this morning that one of the cats just came and called me to go back to bed so that she could use me as a heater. 😃 #cats

I have to teach a lesson on how to be polite in English today and I disagree with just about everything in the lesson, so subsequently not feeling very polite at all before I walk in the door. Interesting day ahead.

1. Managed to work through the onset of a virus that seems to come back every year when the temperature drops. 2. My class were very vibrant and engaged despite the dreary weather. 3. Safely traversed the wet roads without incident. #3goodthings #threegoodthings

Existential dread used to be something I really grappled with understanding but now it's becoming clearer as each day passes and each headline becomes more incomprehensible.

40 years driving and had a first the other day. Cruising down a street in my neighbourhood and in the distance I spot a car coming my way. Usually not a drama but this car appeared to be on my side of the road. I slowed down, thinking the car would veer to the other side but it didn't. Then panic sets in, I slow to a crawl, flash my lights and blast the horn. About 3 seconds from impact, the driver realises their error and moves across and then just continues on. #weird #traffic

#timetravel About to embark on a short journey back in time to the place that owned my childhood. Feeling quite ambivalent as my emotions swing from nostalgia to dread. I had the happiest of childhoods in many ways but as an adult I've grown into a different person who doesn't easily remember this and I too quickly judge the place on how it fits with the current 'me'. I will endeavour to be more open and accepting this trip and try and recapture those happy mem...

I've just spent 20 minutes trying to find where I can disable doomscrolling in the settings but when I finally found it and swiped it off, the screen just reloaded and showed me yet another atrocity.
