A new #Mega65 #FPGA Core released today. The 10th Anniversary Edition. Installed it together with the new rom as my new default and it works great. Lots of bug fixes and improvements. And a new intro disk to go with the new system software. It's a bundle of new software, demos and games. #Commodore #8bitcomputing #C65 #C64 #Retrocomputing #8bit

Running #HaikuOS on a #Thinkpad T14s Gen 3 works great. Except this laptop is so hot my fingers hurts typing on the keyboard. #BeOS #RetroComputing

Today I did something fun! On my left is my dear old 1GHz #Powerbook #G4. The best machine i've ever owned. But it's been around and seen better days. Bought an upgrade: 1.5GHz, 1.25GB of RAM and 2x the VRAM. Though just a CD-RW instead of a my broken DVD Burner. And the display is so much brighter, and the keys feels brand new! Ordered an #msata to de adapter and disk just in case, but don't know if i want to use it. #PowerPC #VintageComputing #VintageMac #PPC #Maci...

@GlitchGhost@retro-gaiden.com Because the 12" Powerbooks uses Nvidia GPU they are a bit more complicated than the 15" and 17" with ATI/AMD. But it can be done. During the 6 years it was my main computer back in the days it was popular to run OpenBSD on them. Though I plan to use #macports to compile/install a modern *nix ecosystem onto #OSX 10.5 Leopard. WIth a modern GCC, OpenSSL, OpenSSH, Rust, Python etc. There's a modern browser #Powerfox that works gr...

Bought an #SSD Upgrade to the #Powerbook G4 12" 1.5GHz - chenyang mSATA Mini SATA SSD to IDE 44Pin - Transcend MSA230 128GB mSATA SSD Opening up this computer takes some commitment. And while I was in there I also lubricated the CPU fan to fix some noise. Then booted the computer from an external #Firewire disk and restored the #Sorbert Leopard image. #VintageMac #Retrocomputing #PPC #PowerbookG4 #G4 #msata #Macintosh #PowerPC #osx

Spent the entire day building a modern *nix ecosystem for the 12" 1.5GHz #PowerbookG4 with the new #SSD drive. #MacPorts is such a great tool and community with archives for atleast some prebuilt packages. Thanks! In total 266 packages installed today. Not done yet though but managed to get the essentials including: - bash 5.3.9_0 - gcc14 14.3.0_0 - openssh 10.3p1_0 - openssl3 3.6.1_0 - python314 3.14.5_0 - zsh 5.9_3 #VintageMac #PowerPC #Macintosh #Retrocomputing #PPC #Apple #OSX

This brings back memories: #Diablo2 Though I prefer #Diablo 1 and I've already installed #DevilutionX, it's been so long since i've played D2. And everything is so snappy on #OSX #Leopard with an #SSD so I've spent hours installing stuff in general just as an excuse to play with the machine. Time to play on this portable mac gaming powerhouse: #PowerbookG4 12" 1.5GHz #Nvidia GeForce FX Go 5200 128GB SSD 1.25GB RAM 64MB VRAM #Apple #Macintosh #Vintag...

Today I benchmarked the two #Powerbook 12" against each other. My original companion from 2003 against the newly purchased one from 2005. After some searching I found one of my old #iPods. The 3rd gen iPod nano. Could not find my older 4th gen iPod (ClickWheel). I could load new music from my Mac Studio with MacOS Tahoe directly to the iPod with the #apple music app and then manage the library on #iTunes on #OSX 10.5 Leopard on my 12" #Powerbook G4 With a bad battery and even worse display I loaded up the #iPod with some #PowerMetal and headed out on a sunday walk. #VintageMac #Retrocomputing #PowerPC #PPC #Leopard...

Last evening I downloaded the #GUI64 v1.97 to the #C64 Core on the #Mega65. Connected the #SD2IEC device and the #mouSTer. It just worked - including the scroll wheel on the mouse! (Used OBS Studio and the Capture Card to connect the Mega65 to get the CRT look with a background image just for fun.) I'm now very intrigued to buy #C64OS so I also can combine this setup with the #TeensyROM for networking. Using as much peripherals as I can. #Retrocomputing #Commodore #8bit #Commodore6...

Just happen to see this: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48283099 https://github.com/mplsllc/macsurf "MacSurf, a web browser port of Netsurf for Mac OS 9 with native TLS" Downloaded it to the #iBook running #MacOS9 and started MacSurf.
