By day, I'm the Accessibility specialist at Desmos Studio. Otherwise, technology, music, fitness, amateur radio, and bad television from the 90's occupy the rest of my time. Dictators and Nazis not welcome.

Not directly related to Global Accessibility Awareness Day, but we released a public beta of #Desmos Notebook, a place where you can mix text, math, geometry, graphs, and 3D constructions in a single document a few hours ago. I mention #GAAD here because accessibility is a deeply held core value here, and we've spent a lot of time to ensure the product works for everybody. Still a public beta, but I welcome feedback on what works well and any rough edges. Find it at www.desmos.com/notebo...

I had such hope for the new #SunoAI feature to clone one's voice for increased personalization. Its approximation of my own dulcet tones fails spectacularly, and thus, I present "My AI Voice" as sung by... a sort of old man with a weird British/American/South African? accent.

The combined and still uniquely distinguishable odors of fresh mulch and dog fart permeate my office this afternoon.

Just learned of another victim of today's right-wing techno-fascism: Code 2040 is closing its doors at the end of May. https://www.code2040.org/blog/2026/3/9/h4uynvb9k2kxgujn56jsw4fqeqyumq

Thought I'd see how #Suno would cover the original Blart Radio theme over my lunch break. Given the source material, I don't think it turned out too badly.

Another #Suno cover, this time of the ending music for Blart Radio. I'm surprised how much of the original it recreated-- even down to the harmonies in the main melody.

It's nice that federal and state entities are rushing to ensure their software and services are WCAG 2.1 compliant, and demanding suppliers fill out an #accessibility conformance report is mostly reasonable. But providing said document as a non-editable PDF feels disingenuous and hypocritical, and only increases my cynicism that anyone out there really gives a fuck about this stuff.

Easy solution: don't have friends. https://mastodon.cloud/@slashdot/116072344584105597

Just saw this video featuring my friend Ken, N8KR, talking about all things #SKCC for #HamRadio operators interested in CW with mechanical keys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjEw2cDktvM

It figures that only I would find a way to slice open a finger while trying to stack boxes in a storage locker earlier this afternoon. Made quite the mess, and given that, I'm contemplating a visit to a doctor within the next few days to determine whether stitches will be required. #Thursday

Ten years ago, I began working for a (then) tiny startup out of San Francisco on the side to make some extra cash and expand my engineering skill set. Figured they would keep me around for a few months until they decided their products were "good enough." Instead, they wound up offering me a full-time position near the end of the year just as my primary job was imploding, and I've been here ever since. Feeling much gratitude to be where I am.
