  1/3 - For a long time, I haven't been a fan of private RSS feeds. To access premium podcasts today, creators typically need to publish their content on a separate paywall platform such as Patreon, Memberful, or Substack. Fans then have to create another account, purchase the subscription, copy the private RSS feed, and paste it into their preferred podcast app before they can start listening. That's a lot of steps. #highfriction

  Justin Jackson, here is our new full-screen player for displaying your video. We are developing this further, but it is a TV-like experience. The good thing is you can still see the show notes, chapters or leave a comment if you want. If you do have chapters, we would display them down the side and let users jump forward or backward.   1/3 TrueFans has just updated our mobile player. TrueFans could already playback MP3, MP4 and/or HLS Video. However, with our new mobile player, you can now choose to view or hide the video. h/t Apple podcasts. By default, if we find a video in the primary and/or alternate enclosure, we will play it first.   TrueFans have just implemented @dave new spam API. We found over 1000 podcasts which we have removed. Now before we add in new episodes we check if they are listed as Spam. Thanks Dave.

  TrueFans is the first hosting platform to stream audio (MP3) and video (MP4/HLS) podcasts to all listening apps. One thing we noticed when streaming content was the high number of BOTS listening/scraping episodes. We now have two solutions to deal with BOTS. 1. We added a HIDE BOTS toggle switch, which shows creators the true metrics without the BOTS listen/watch time. 2. We added a new BOT BLOCKER to enable creators to pick and choose which BOTS to block - see image below. @dave @adam

  Today TrueFans launched Co-Listen & Chat (the new Netflix & Chill). So if I follow you on TrueFans and we become friends. Then when you start listening to an episode, I get a notification. If I click on the notification, I join you at the same point in the audio. Now we can both listen together and chat in real-time about the episode.   1/2 - TrueFans now supports OPML both import and export! Its funny because I thought OPML was a universal exchange format and there would only be one version of OPML? It seems not. Apple, PocketCast, Overcast, Podverse etc. all appear to have a different format? Equally several podcast apps only have an import OPML function!? We think we have all formats covered. You import them to your playlists page as a new playlist. You can play, curate, rename or delete the playlist. @goldsteinmedia
