Tried using Fable 5 to see if it could handle a SwiftData NULL relationship issue I’ve been having for a year. It first did a bunch of things that could *not* work in SwiftData (inserting objects into the model at init time), then reverted all those changes when it couldn’t work. Burned through over half my monthly credits…

One major problem with antidepressants is that they can take up to 6 weeks for any positive result to be seen (negative side effects can show up the first day or within 2-3 days). Are any ADHD meds like this? Are there “instant” ADHD meds? Instant like work within 1-2 weeks or less?

RE: https://mastodon.social/@pmcg/116869676193050707 I think the last time anything to do with the DVD Player was updated was when I discovered a security issue in the way the framework worked… Edit: It saved an unsigned binary to a temp folder and then blindly loaded it into the application using the DVD framework.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@rosyna/116702944608084552 I still haven’t been able to find a job. Sigh. Depression and ADHD sucks ass. The 9th is the final day unless I get help for rent again. I hate asking for help so much but am so happy when I receive it. I’ve got $42 to my name and weekly therapy is $40. I’m all out of mental health medications as I can’t afford a new doctor and the adult testing to get on ADHD meds is very expensive (I’m near Apple Park). I need help and/or a job!

RE: https://mastodon.social/@rosyna/116874934781272858 If I can get funded via GoFundMe, which haxie would people like to see most if it’s possible to implement in today’s macOS world without disabling SIP? I got one vote for FruitMenu. See the list at here but, of course, ShapeShifter is not possible. https://web.archive.org/web/20121226225850/http://unsanity.com/products

I didn’t know a feature existed that, if you long tap a folder with notifications on iOS 26, it’ll show which apps have notifications in the folder in the popup menu. TIL…

I guess I better make peace with being evicted unless anyone has a job they can pay me for within the next 14 calendar days. I’ll take anything, I have deep knowledge of iOS and especially macOS and have an unusual ability to learn new things quickly and deeply. So deeply. And I exceed at finding and fixing bugs. Previously worked at Apple. #FediHire Résumé: https://paradisefacade.com/about

If you’re developing an iOS app and see a few users running a version of iOS that’s a few years old, is it ok to just ask those users why they stick to that version? (After making sure their model ID can actually run newer versions of iOS, of course)

I’m getting false positive warnings on Apple Silicon apps not being supported on future versions of macOS. But this app, SQLPro for SQLite, is a fat app. The only thing it has is an x64 subprocess for a Legacy Color Picker extension, which is automatic launch by AppKit and is entirely Apple’s code!

Ugh, SwiftData’s ORM capability really goes to crap when your database gets too large! I’m currently setting about 10,000 relationships and it is so incredibly slow with just a handful being set per second.

Google claims “Android is now the fastest mobile platform for web browsing when using Chrome”. I find this interesting because Chrome on Android doesn’t support extensions or content blockers, two technologies that greatly increase the speed and responsiveness of browsing… https://blog.chromium.org/2026/03/android-sets-new-record-for-mobile-web.html

I remember how, back when Apple was using Intel processors, Apple wouldn’t enable some security features either because they weren’t available on all SKUs Apple used, they where buggy as hell outside Windows, or the security they promised just wasn’t there. This is probably not a subtoot…

Wtf, Apple?! Don’t be changing the design of the duck head on power adapters without telling people! Especially don’t do it randomly with two different variants on the market at once! https://9to5mac.com/2026/04/02/apples-new-macbook-pro-charger-includes-change-that-breaks-accessory-compatibility/

Well, I’m super fucked. The GoFundMe didn’t do as well as I hoped (https://gofund.me/ec9a1bbc8) and April’s rent is due in a few days. I can’t get evicted again, but it looks like that’s the way things are going. I had some unexpected medical expenses in March because I couldn’t afford November’s health insurance premium and these companies all decided to charge me in March.
