  @jackwilliambell I'd definitley be in favor of a combination of the two. Like "be a good neighbor, but be strong enough to deal with bad neighbors." feels like a bad strategy to only favour one, but refuse the other.

  @jackwilliambell i may have added some nuance in my head in translation. "Might is right" may (in the right hands) be used to protect the neighborhood from bad actors. In the wrong hands, that same might may harm neighbors. One who is a good neighbor only but has not "invested" in "might" may be unable to accomplish anything when a neighbor turns bad. Maybe i'm just misunderstanding your underlying points, but i feel like this needs...

  @jackwilliambell btw i love the boiled down simple 2 core principle. Feels like this can indeed be applied to almost everything. But as fundamentally different as those 2 principles sound, i think they are the 2 extremes of a spectrum. And, likely, in most circumstances the truth lies somewhere in between.
