  Nice to see electric ferries becoming a thing. My local ferry service to Denmark has two of their three boats electric. And I’ve just booked a ferry to Fanø where one of the two is.

  The Aeron of Theseus continues, with new old stock fabric arm pads. Apparently Enron (where this chair came from originally) special-ordered fabric ones for unknown reasons. In the last 30 years it’s had two new gas struts, a new base mesh, support foam, and now arm pads. I reckon it’s easily got the same life left in it.

  Putting together a compilation of short stories by Catherine Louisa Pirkis (of Loveday Brooke, Lady Detective fame) and I really love this archaeology part. I’ve already transcribed 2–3 shorts from 1870s magazine scans that aren’t on her Wikipedia page. But there’s a novella called “Trooping with Crows” with no public scans available. Luckily you can pay British Library to digitise books from their collection, so #standardEbooks will have the first publication since 1880 (for free of course).

  Putting an old Apple Time Capsule up for sale so reset it to factory settings, but out of caution double-checked and found that the reset just reset the settings, not the drive contents, so they’re now being wiped. Then I remembered that I’d bought the same box second-hand on eBay and when it turned up I found the drive full of recordings of US military planning sessions for Afghanistan operations. Those got deleted sharpish.
