I&#39;ve been really enjoying the NPR Tiny Desk Concerts as they introduce me to music I often haven&#39;t heard before or am reappreciating in a new format. The Kronos Quartet blew my mind, not just for their musicality and fun, but also because of their radical support of protest and commissioning music to be shared for free with anyone who wants to play it. Genuinely the best thing you can do to the current fascist fuckos right now is ignore them. Don't spread their hate, don't give them oxygen. They'll die gasping from the lack of clout. Failing that: point and laugh. Mockery is a fierce tool that is underused in times of fear. Let's dust her off and take her for a spin. Oh yeah, and build community for when we rebuild from the ashes of their broken empires.

So I&#39;m planning on changing my full IRL name (like the whole thing) and I randomly mentioned it to some work colleagues today. Beyond a bit of initial &quot;wut?&quot; pauses as they parsed what I was saying, they were fairly unfussed which is good. Now I need to actually do the thing. Halp!

Two things I didn't think I'd say today: 1. You know that mad musician who made a synth organ out of furbies? Yeah he's the UK eurovision entry this year. And 2. It's actually quite good and a bit subversive. Singing in German, mocking Britain and the music video showing him heading to Europe. Ooft. Watching the America's Next Top Model docu on Netflix and while I remember some of it being bad, holy shit I really didn't remember it being so bad. Watching something as a not worldly wise teenage versus now is quite the headline trip. The 2000s were so deeply awful for so many people.
