I know it's just a bit of fun, but all of these "your year wrapped" things popping up seem to be saying the quiet part loud.

It seems to be ISP Day on my Mastodon feed, so... We recently got a few leaflets through the door suggesting that the starting gun has been fired on the CityFibre they installed earlier in the year. Virgin finally have some proper competition. Any recommendations for decent and not-too-pricey residential ISPs that I should look at? Decent upload is useful when working from home. (Rise Fibre look OK on paper; anyone any direct experience with them?)

As Euclid and Carolyn Knapp-Shappey said, two point make a line, and so two posts constitute a tradition. For the second year in a row, and this now an annual thing, a NYE post about the books I've read in the last year. Happy New Year for a few hours time... https://rob.rho.org.uk/2025/12/books_of_2025.html

Why did nobody tell me about this setting?! (I mean, I know why *Apple* didn't tell me about this setting, but I'm slightly surprised I haven't previously heard about it elsewhere. In any case, makes the Music app decent interface for playing your local library again.)
