    I recently got a new bicycle to commute to work on the Workride scheme (it’s a pre-tax salary sacrifice to get the bike tax free, endorsed by the IRD - get your NZ workplace in on it if they’re not already). The new bike is great. It’s a Marin gravel bike so closer to a road bike than the mountain bike I was riding previously. It’s astounding how much faster you can go on the thinner tires and lighter frame. Just have to watch out even more for the cars, but it nice to be passing them for a lot...
