Looking for mentions/conceptualisations of the baroque in African Studies, does anyone have tips? I’ve read Mbembe again, as well as Ong and the Latin American stuff (Gago, Santos, Echeverría, Glissant), has any of that left traces in African studies? #AfricanStudies #baroque

Managed to install Tropy via Flatpack on Ubuntu, I think I’m nearly set up now for doing my research and writing on my wonderful trusty old t440s. Last problem is syncing Obsidian via iCloud, which seems impossible. Thanks for nothing Apple. Prolly need to move my Cloud to a better service

I love these little windows into what was going on every day in colonial societies, here: an anticolonial Christian sect being active across Angola and the Belgian Congo, in 1957 #Africa #colonialism #anticolonialism #history

I love it when I reread an article for a volume I edit and all the work, engagement and commenting of the editors, including myself, shine through. Improving others' articles is such satisfying work, and I'm always grateful for when I'm on the receiving end of peer reviews, comments and feedback. Academia can be great when you work in community. #academia #writing

Publikation!
