This is a truly wonderful interview with all the people who made Dungeon Master: https://www.timeextension.com/features/the-making-of-dungeon-master-a-truly-trailblazing-first-person-rpg

@nivrig yeah how ARE you using it? [sharpens pitchfork]* ... *(pitchfork generated by AI)

@devlin Indeed, it was working off and on a while back apparently, so I expect it was damaged and eventually burnt out.

Driller for PC, 2007 I played this remake at the time, but I'm not sure how many people know about it compared to the original. Definitely worth a try. https://archive.org/details/Driller

Had an Atari mono monitor on its way from eBay, but too late realised it was being sent via Evri... Well, as probably expected, it is now unable to be delivered due to damage. I wish I'd noticed before the item had been sent, I'd have paid more to get it with literally *anyone* else. Another retro casualty of awful shipping companies :(

    Erm... what?

Finally got around to looking into the full range of Grapevine Magazine disks for the Amiga, after finding those random issues in the A600's disk collection a while ago. Issue 05 is the first to move from a simple greets style intro news disk into a full magazine, in Oct 91. Feels a bit like a visiting a fascinating alien subculture, I never had access to any of this stuff at the time (and certainly no access to the BBSes they mention - I first got a modem around 1997/98).

@NanoRaptor I did something very like this in Elite Dangerous and that's all the proof I need that it will work.

Now if I could just fit this* into my ZX Spectrum Harlequin 128, I'd need no custom chips at all...

    Inspector Clouseau escapes again.

This is great. We should all strive to provide actionable feedback, instead of just venting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hAR1ppYPJQ (Incidentally, I never go to forums these days either for much the same reason.)

Ah. Yes, that probably explains why this PC motherboard isn't working. (Also, microscopes - how did we cope without them?)

Chucked a few comments into the winds of Bluesky. I don't expect replies. Still, nice to pop in now and again to see how the other half live.
