    This might just be the dumbest #woodworking idea I&#39;ve attempted to realize so far. Instead of making my first butcher block a reasonable size, i..e. a simple cutting board, I took some laminated oak offcuts from a friend and am currently trying to turn them into an entire counter top for a bar/work table in our kitchen:
