  Within the past few days, you may have seen my toot about finishing #EmilyWilson’s amazing translation of Homer’s “The Odyssey.” The truth is, I still wanted *more* … and today, the mailman delivered Wilson’s translation of Homer’s “The Iliad,” which Wilson worked on during the six years following publication of “The Odyssey.” I haven’t started in yet, but there’s no question that I am indeed getting the “more” I asked for … her Iliad is a substantially lengthier volume than her Odyssey.   A fantastic new lens arrived today …  a Brightin Star 35mm f/0.95 marvel. Surprisingly inexpensive (Leica’s Noctilux 50mm f/0.95 goes for $14,400 … !) the key number here is the f/0.95 … which means this lens can let in a *lot* of light. Take the two zeros off that Noctilux price, and $144 is still more than I paid for the Brightin Star.   I removed a bin from a shelf to get a lens … I turned around for a second or two, and heard a *whump* behind me. I turned back, and there she was. I asked her to wait while I grabbed my iPhone for a pic. It’s a little blurry, but you get the idea.
