I’m an iOS engineer working for a public health insurance company in Hamburg, Germany. I mostly write Swift but I’m interested in many programming languages. In my spare time (not much as I’m proud father of 2) I evolve BTLB, a library (as in 📚) focused app. I do that since 2009.

There are 1001 ways, but this is my way, thanks so much for building #xcode-dev-cleaner @kkolakowski https://github.com/vashpan/xcode-dev-cleaner

#TIL when calling #rust #ffi that uses `#[uniffi::export(async_runtime = "tokio")]` I better call it with `withContext(Dispatchers.IO) {…` from #kotlin

I wanted to learn #Android but a single lengthy #prompt created a whole search section of the app and connected the search logic to the #Rust crate I have built in the past. It worked on first attempt (existing iOS app on the left, what 'it' created on Android to the right) - I'll have to get used to this new way of learning by reading git diffs, cleaning up and fixing code. I used Claude Sonnet 4, it cost 0.45$

Watching #claude do its thing is like watching a movie.

After #llm #copypaste 'ing *Search* the last 2 weekends I started with the accounts, the list of borrowed items this weekend. #Claude 4 is expensive but it got me far. This is it after an hour, without touching code (which starts to feel embarrassing). Again, comparing the existing iOS app to the generated Android counterpart. I noticed sorting of items does not seem to happen in the iOS/Android shared Rust library - didn't expect that 🙈

BTLB app is so ready for #Xcode RC, hoping Xcode Cloud is ready as well this year 🤞 https://fosstodon.org/@q231950/113642048983536368

While the #llm localizes my app in another language I go empty the dishwasher 🤷🏻♂️
