<p>I grew up on a dairy farm, went to a small college, and got a Ph.D. in Nuclear Chemistry from UC Berkeley in 1988. After 4 years post docing, I relocated to Portland, Oregon. I spent a decade working in bike shops before starting proteomics in 2003. I am now a senior data analyst in the proteomics core at Oregon Health and Science University.</p>
