  @britown I’ve always understood const-ness to be a language-specific concept, so I guess it depends? In C++ my understanding is that object const-ness applies to the *observable* state of the object, so anything that doesn’t effect the outward-facing class behavior (like caches) is an exception. C++ uses the *mutable* keyword to allow for these exceptions
