How can I be more disappointed in the world? We are being ground into dust by the most boring and sometimes awful people. And an army of hapless lackies just locking the shackles to their own ankles because “you can’t stop progress”.

@halcy Fugazi! When I worked for Dreamworks we had a wrap party at the Paladium. Never saw a show there though. Probably should have. https://tech.intersects.art/@roadside/116689979278702750

@lritter are you using Slang with SDL GPU? I have been using SDL_shadercross and HLSL up until now and I recall reading that Slang had some issues with the library. But maybe it’s the past and worth reevaluating?

My studio monitors weren’t getting much use for the past year. I connected them to my record player and…. boah geil. The full range on some of these LPs is *amazing*, and while I don’t think vinyl is inherently better in some way, it’s definitely true that a proper mix/master combined with a pair of speakers that can be driven fully by the mix is amazing to experience. I 100% hear how crushed and compressed most things are in their streaming service delivery now. And the services also normal...

Anybody around familiar with building rustc? I’ve got it building for qnx and it’s failing at the license scraper for my patched cc-rs. Maybe it can’t find the local path? I’ve had to point every usage in the various Cargo.tomls in the rust repo to my modified cc-rs and libc crates. Is there a way to skip this step? I’m here trying to prove viability of something and not trying to properly submit patches and so on. #rust #qnx

Ok #netbsd fans. I have an x1 carbon from 2023. It’s running Arch and that’s all good. But I’m very very motivated to swim in the waters of a bsd system. My interests and uses normally involve games and graphics explorations. I just want to be able to use the intel gpu with sdl3 basically. And sadly this is a hidpi system so I’m always worried whether getting a usable display for my aging eyesight is achievable. Does anyone have words of caution here for me? Is it known to not work in some c...
