Getting back into trying to improve at go. Unfortunately my 10 yeat old son is the only other player I know, and he's gonna lose interest in the game if he can't beat me once in a while. I feel it's the very best 2 player game, but commiting to learning it is way to hard for casual players.

cloudflare going down for 30 mn and 20 clients call me all at once. Thankfully it didn’t last that long, but obviously this kind of monolith in the web’s infrastructure is problematic.

I love setting up goals for the new year. This one is going to be tough: buy no new rpg book in 2026. I have already in my possession terrific games that have yet to hit the table in a significant way, plus a lot of backed projet coming: cairn, dolmenwood, vaarn, too many mothership modules, the dungeon book for his Majesty the worm, the one ring, liminal horror, the list goes on. So no purchases, more playing in 2026.

I can't believe Stonetop is about to ship. Between funding and delivery, I had time to get bummed out of PbtA, fall in love with rules light games, and get interested again in PbtA (well this and the new Apocalypse World).

Starting a new #Cairn play by post game over on the "Rolling Languages" discord. I thought about proposing a game of #Vaarn but Cairn is just perfect for #PbP in my humble opinion for 3 reasons: - the setting is more grounded and easier to "sell" than something as weird as Vaarn - no to hit rolls and only 1 damage die per target means combat is much easier to handle in this mode - kettlewright, the free online app to manage characters, and parties is just su...

@todd I’ve run Mythic Bastionland recently, which is a mix of #2 and #4. The GM builds a hex map with some set places but there is a lot of randomness involved in the exploration and the creation of locales, NPCs, drama…

After some initial struggle, I beat my first Slay the Spire 2 run with the new character "The Regent". This dude is really weird with his Stars ressources, but I managed to get some star cost scaling and card creation loop going. He feels very unique and fun. Love the game so far and all the new little things in the events, card upgrades, and quest cards.

I've had great runs with Necrobinder's "Osty" and "Doom" packages, but I've never dug into her "Ethereal" synergy package. I'm really impressed by #slaythespire2 so far, they managed to keep what made the first game so good while bringing a lot of fresh and run twisting ideas. Tuning wise, I feel that act 1 is harder than in the original, but that the rest tends to be a lot easier once you get rolling. Might...

It took a while for me to get a "Ethereal" package clicking with the Necrobinder, but boy is it good. By the end of the run it felt like running a very aggro Silent run. #slaythespire2

Why is it so hard to totally deactivate the caps lock key on Windows? I only hit this by accident, I’d rather make it a closer to the home row extra ESC. On Linux it’s super easy, here it looks I need to edit hexadecimal files somewhere in the registry.

received a macbook from work. It’s incredible that as a sales man, I need to install brew on it to install an app from github to prevent Apple Music from launching everytime I touch the side of my headset that sends the media play signal. People who praise MacOS for its design are lunatics.
