  Saw one of the three last concerts Eppu Normaali here in Tampere. They really were just amazing live as everyone has told me. (this band is regarded as one of the all time greats of Finnish rock music - a main staple of any karaoke bar) 🎸

  Over the summer I built a vector tile rendering pipeline to my topo map app Maptrails. I can pretty confidently say it’s the best and most accurate map there is for Finland right now. The update is available today.

  I notice that now, by using AI for most of my app development, I spent much less time in front of my computer. Shorter stints here and there instead of sitting hours on end implementing some new feature. These days I don’t touch my desktop computer almost at all. I’ve had much more time for other hobbies, and taking a proper habit of hitting the gym several times a week. 🏋️

I’d think Apple (like any platform owner would) has always preferred developers make apps that “are invisible”, use their native components (whatever is de jour that year) and don’t surprise (or delight) the user in any way. We as indie developers know better. It is exactly the fun, playfulness and innovation that drives users to come to our app. This makes our apps stand out even when the winds ch...
