As a non-american who’s content was stolen to train AI, that’s not enough.

I’m sorry that you have to deal with everything going on. I know that doesn’t make anything at all better, but I am sorry. I think trans women are strong and resilient because you all have to go through so much, and it takes immense courage to finally cut the bullshit and let you be you. And yes, that’s the same as the bomber meme. Just know some of us are out there trying to be allies for you. We may not know you specifically, but we support you.

I think a lot of the culture war outrage is made up straw manning. I’ve never met a non binary or trans person in real life who actually gets mad if you make a pronoun mistake, as long as you correct and try to do better. It’s less a culture war as it is a bunch of assholes harassing gay/non binary/trans people for their own amusement. Then there are some incredibly trollish culture warriors in the left who don’t really represent reality at all.

So, if you ever have to get the bands back on a lobster this trick works every time: take a spoon or laddle or stick. thread the stick through the elastic, so you can slide it. badger the lobster with the stick until it grabs it with your other hand slip the elastic over the claw. You can repeat for the other claw.

I could see running a service to host blue sky services for governments and companies being a good compromise. You don’t need $100M to do that.

“Lives in their heads” perfectly describes me. There are times a tornado could be happening but inside I’m somewhere else. Or the opposite, a neighbour starts mowing their effing lawn and I can’t focus at all.

They’ve been saying that since XP

Yeah they’re going to cost as much as a house. I think we’ll see much larger active portions of larger MOEs, and larger context windows, which would be useful. The non LLM models I run would benefit a lot from this, but I don’t know of I’ll ever be able to justify the cost of how much they’ll be.
