After my term at the GNOME Board of directors was finished last month, I finally managed to write a public retrospective: https://blogs.gnome.org/pabloyoyoista/2025/08/25/retrospective-of-my-term-as-a-director-for-the-gnome-foundation/ Hope some people find it useful. It was not easy to write, but I think it is something necessary.

I don't think I remember the last time I wrote code... Maybe like 2 or 3 weeks ago? And that is sinking like 20+ hours a week on #postmarketOS It's quite crazy how governance and coordinating with people takes so much time 😅 The results are totally worth it though!

Today a 14 year old wrote an email proudly explaining how they installed #postmarketOS on their Acer Chromebook, and asking if I could send some stickers to their postal address. I invited them to #FrOSCon (where they could get a lot of stickers!), since that's a family-friendly event, and otherwise said I would try. They replied very happy to get a reply from a pmOS maintainer, and "see you in Sankt Augustin". I'm just so happy I made the day of this kid :D

@unfinishedsymphony has recently stepped up helping with issues related to postmarketOS docs (huge thanks!). And one of the things we had pending was fixing the ugly banner to go back to the index, for example in https://docs.postmarketos.org/policies-and-processes/governance.html. I as the maintainer have very little UI and UX knowledge. If anybody here would like to suggest improvements there, or directly comment in the code in https://gitlab.postmarketos.org/postmarketOS/docs.postmarketos.org...

Finally all the docs related to HW-CI that I wrote after the post-FOSDEM postmarketOS hackathon are merged! Still lots to do, but you can get some pretty solid introduction already with https://docs.postmarketos.org/hardware-ci/ https://docs.postmarketos.org/phone-harness/ and https://docs.postmarketos.org/pmaports/main/hardware-ci.html

Does anybody know some place to try and test different mechanical keyboards and switches around hamburg? I bought a mechanical split keyboard some time ago, and I'm having a bit of a hard time getting used to the switches (probably bought them too light). I could always buy https://www.keebart.com/de/produkte/switch-tester but would rather avoid it if I could #fediask #keyboard #mechanicalkeyboard #hamburg #HH
