Things they don’t tell you about #Mastodon but should: choosing a server based on your interests, affinities, or identity really doesn’t matter. What matters and what you can’t learn anywhere except through trial and error is: 1) Is that server’s admin(s) responsive? 2) What interval do they apply updates? Three days on and I’m still thinking about the most fucked up rat I’ve ever seen: big, matted fur, a big sore on one side, moving slowly and not giving any fucks to my fast, looming presence. Respect (and horror).
