Tidal AI Policy | Promoting Fairness and Economic Empowerment in the Era of AI-Generated Music
I saw this linked elsewhere. The key points in my opinion are: Tidal defines AI-generated music as music that is wholly or substantially generated by generative artificial intelligence. […] Tidal will accept AI-generated music. Artists should have the freedom to create with AI tools, and listeners should have the autonomy to choose the type of content they consume […] Tidal will identify and tag AI-generated music. Listeners should know whether content they are listening to is AI-gene...

Fedecan.ca has been updated with a generalized threadiverse section, an updated list of alternative UIs, and an RSS feed for announcements
Generalized ‘Threadiverse’ sections Previously, we had separate guide sections for Lemmy and Piefed, with very few Piefed specific pages. Instead of writing a new set of pages for Piefed, we have generalized most of the Lemmy pages into pages that can be applied to any threadiverse platform. When the page can use additional Piefed specific information or screenshots, we added a “🛠️ Help Needed” card near the top. This includes the following pages: threadiverse/overview threadiverse/detailed-...

Turns out I have been updating wrong all this time! 🤦🏼
cross-posted from: lemmy.ml/post/46701277 I’ve been running my home lab since 2021 and honestly thought my update routine was solid: apt update && apt upgrade, reboot, job done. Turns out I was wrong. I was checking CVE‑2026‑31431 (Copy Fail) this morning and realised that despite my “successful” updates, I was still running a vulnerable kernel from March. I’ve had to rethink how I handle host updates. If you’re relying on a standard upgrade and a reboot to keep Proxmox or...

From the Department of Bizarre Anomalies: Microsoft has suppressed an unexplained anomaly on its network that was routing traffic destined to example.com—a domain reserved for testing purposes—to a maker of electronics cables located in Japan. Under the RFC2606—an official standard maintained by the Internet Engineering Task Force—example.com isn’t obtainable by any party. Instead it resolves to IP addresses assigned to Internet Assiged Names Authority. The designation is intended to prevent t...

Investigation | Using easily accessible advertising data, Le Monde was able to pinpoint the identities, home addresses and daily routines of several dozen people working for sensitive official entities. The identities of French spies are among the Republic’s most closely-guarded secrets. Revealing them is even a criminal offense. Yet, with just a little technical know-how, one can track down the home addresses of certain agents, and thereby discover their identities, daily routines and even...
