OpenCommit Foundation chooses Soverin as its email partner! For our git hosting at opencommit.eu, we were looking for a partner that is not only technically strong but also shares the same values: privacy, transparency, open standards, and digital sovereignty. With Soverin, our email is handled on European servers. This ensures our email infrastructure now aligns as perfectly with our mission as our platform itself. A New Home for Open Source: OpenCommit is Live! 🚀 We are a new, growing foundation driven by a simple but vital mission: providing a reliable, independent home for #opensource projects. Our goal is to be more than just a #hosting provider; we want to be a cornerstone in a future, #federated network of #forges standing alongside fantastic community efforts like #Codeberg and our platform's core #Forgejo. We've had a number of people interested in this while we were walking around at #FOSDEM so let's give some insights here.. We have 3 physical machines in an #EU located and owned datacenter. We run a #Ceph storage cluster and #K3S on top of them. Our operation is fully #gitops using #ArgoCD. We run our site with #offen for basic analytics, so visitors have #privacy, #transparency and #control. If you see someone in a black shirt and our logo during #fosdem2026, feel free to a...

Phew! #Fosdem is over for 2026 and what a great time it was! We had some great talks with people about what we're trying to do. We also saw interesting talks on several #EU-related topics. We have a bunch of ideas we'd like to work on! Shout out to #Codeberg and #Forgejo as well as #Nextcloud #PostgreSQL and #FOSSASIA to name just a few. We opened registration the day before #fosdem2026. We're excited to see where we'll stand at #fosdem2027! Looking forward to...

Hi! 👋 We realize #opencommit is still quite new and unknown to many, so in an effort to let people know how we think about various topics, the #foundation is publishing #policy documents. They're intended as "single A4" style explanations in a structured format. We'll give some context, how we think, what to expect and what we expect from users... The first topic is: why we enforce #2FA see: https://docs.opencommit.eu/policies/2fa/ If you have any suggestion...

Does OpenCommit have #actions? Yes, but.. We're *currently* not providing runners *yet*. Since we're still a small platform, we currently ask our users to host their own runners somewhere. We do have an example of how you might do that using #docker #compose: https://opencommit.eu/opencommit/exampleRunnerUsingCompose #runner #opencommit
