Inspired by @rjhale1971 resurrecting the dead corpse of geo chatter, here's some random shit that I've been playing with (just because I want to train my own biological ai model 🤪)

3d GIS is now my happy place. What features would you love to see here that aren't currently realised? Crazy ideas welcome!

This is the "glorious" future of open source development: https://github.com/postgis/postgis/pulls a new pr every 20 minutes, with no (human) thought given to the design or logic of the change. 😭

Once upon a time @EvenRouault spent his valuable time writing world class geo software. Now he's been forced to become a glorified kindergarten teacher, wasting time herding badly behaved slop pushers into line. I can't imagine how demoralising this is, but I know we'll ALL suffer as a result 😭.

This person https://github.com/abinayasiva29-web just earned the dubious honor of being the first user completely banned from the qgis repo for repeatedly wasting our time with ai slop. 👍

What git hosting solutions currently offer free, private hosting that doesn't go into training LLM models? ... I'm looking for somewhere to push private forks of some open source projects so that I'm not actively making myself redundant 😭

The worst thing possible has happened to opensource development, and you're all just blindly thinking it's still business as usual.

The PyQGIS API reference is looking pretty darn awesome these days 🤩https://qgis.org/pyqgis/master/core/QgsMapLayer.html

Seems like ESRI's hold over r/gis is finally weakening: https://www.reddit.com/r/gis/comments/1mq9ue2/how_strong_is_qgis/ 🥳
