  It's been a great weekend in Machynllyth for their comedy festival but now I'm peopled out and going to sit in an Airbnb garden for a bit listening to a stream (technically I have another show booked but decided in favour of an ice cream and walking back in daylight instead)

  Hell Is an airport. This one is packed and the ordering system for the nearest approach to a restaurant is down. Possibly saving me money and saving me from food poisoning, but not improving the experience

  It’s quite amusing that airports etc have just gone all out on putting USB A sockets everywhere for charging just after the world has switched to USB C

  It's slightly disconcerting to be sitting on a plane (still at gate having just boarded) and to get a calendar notification for the flight telling me it will take 12 minutes to drive to the airport

  @girlonthenet@mastodon.social RevK @revk@toot.me.uk used to have a GPS logger in his collection of available circuit boards - not sure if it could send live positioning data or whether it was better suited for saving your tracks to memory until you download it. In any case can't see it on his store right now.

  Plumbing fixes done - and the kitchen is not knee deep in water. We now have a functional garden tap again.

  @idnorton@tech.lgbt I started most of 15 years before you and graduated in Electronics although with a substantial for the time computing component. However I don't think there is any tool or language from undergrad times I still use (very light exposure to Unix Bourne shell). Lots of different editors none of which I have seen in 35 years. Main os was Tops-10 (although used VAX/VMS on a summer job)

  There's some road works going on round the corner - a T junction is completely closed. There is a stream of cars coming up to the junction, looking bemused and then turning round, despite them having driven pay at least 4 sets of road closed signs on their way there

  I’m somewhat impressed - I have never seen beer in a pub tied to the brewery hit £18 per pint before. Needless to say I am drinking something cheaper
