Another mastering job has come my way and it&#39;s a bit different. 14 tracks, from the vaults of a great American drummer. Boy he&#39;s played with some people. My job is to get them all matched up and sequenced as mega compilation album. Styles ranging from hip hop through funk and soul and into serious jazz-fusion (not the shredding type). So making them all sit together will be &#39;interesting&#39;.... Ooh! I do like a creative challenge! #studio #audio

Well, having now supplied (separately) the solicitor and the estate agent with brain scans and DNA samples of us both for 'ID and security' they are all finally happy that we're not running an international crime syndicate or plotting the destruction of those houses of parliament... 😂 FFS and of course if I was even a half brained criminal I could easily have got around every (non) hurdle with ease (possibly easier than being genuine) 🙄

Reading that the venerable and (up to now) rock solid rsync package, used by countless backup systems as well as in its own right by command line folk, is, as of version 3.4.3, broken by (would you believe!) some &#39;vibe-coded&#39; faux ai shit. To put rsync on &#39;hold&#39; from updating, type this into a Linux terminal sudo apt-mark hold rsync System will ask for your password then confirm rsync is on hold. I was talking to my local town arts centre about establishing themselves on the Fedi. I know that Mastodon is just one way, but it&#39;s the way I know most about if they need guidance. Feeling quite chuffed upon reflection re #enshittification this evening. Gave all things #meta and #google the boot a few years ago now. Then last year #amazon got the old size nine in the nuts. I seem to have managed to reach this ripe old age without ever bothering myself with #x or #reddit or #discord So, still ever watchful and never complacent, but feeling I&#39;m on the good path 👍😁

Well! I did the do with setting up my Subvert artist page and was quite impressed with it all. Pretty easy to do and it all felt nice and solid. I like the slightly retro graphic style, which is reminiscent of old Atari/Amiga consoles, in a good way. My page is published, with all the audio, metadata and artwork uploaded, but the site&#39;s not yet open to the public, just artist members. #subvert #music
