RE: https://infosec.exchange/@briankrebs/117010035607446792 a smart TV botnet clicking on ads on AI-generated websites. throw in cryptocurrencies and that will be my highlight of the year.

this "Co-Authored-By: Claude" thingy that everyone is doing, for some reason, reminds me of the good old "Sent from IPhone". maybe i should start adding Linux in co-authors.

idk if you've read server rules when joining but if you're using Mastodon, you are legally required to post photos of your pets. if you don't have any, you are required to boost at least 5 per day.

why would you even need open-source AI projects? AI is so good, you can always just ask claude "write me Linux but without bugs, pls". open-source is for old people. #codeberg #linux #noai

since most of the internet traffic are bots, LLMs are suseptible to prompt injections on web pages, and a lot of people have connected their AI agents to everything, including their credit card (and OpenAI brags how their AI escapes from sandbox to go hacking), i predict that soon we'll see *ads targeted at AI*. it will probably be prompt injections but that's pretty much the same as regular ads exploiting human psychology.

i tried looking for a new job in IT. software engineering is dead, as well as security, infra, and anything else. all job postings are for AI operators instead.

most of the discourse software engineers have at work about LLMs is very egocentric. "what impact can LLMs make on my productivity?" huh? what about the impact it makes on the whole world? did you forget you still live on the same planet as the datacenters and the rich assholes owning them? no amount of good you can do with LLMs can ever outnumber the evil it has already done.

#introduction hi fediverse. i'm nest. i am alone in a foreign country, with no family, friends, or lovers. i was feeling a bit lonely recently, so i thought i'd make an account here to share random thoughts and scroll through cat photos. i never liked social media but mastodon seems cozy. if you're reading this, please send the most recent picture that made you laugh :ablobcatjumping:

it's fascinating how good AI is at solving problems in domains i don't understand. it's almost as if it was somehow linked to my inability to verify the output.
