@Natanox @dennisfaucher A worse player than RealPlayer. But yeah, thanks for the memories; removing those "helpful" "search bars" is essentially a family tradition apparently.

What could Spotify, of all people, be doing that warrants 4500 deploys a day? Are they advancing quantum mechanics over there?

@gooba42 It is so lazy too. Just commitmaxxing. No wonder the desktop version is a memory hog, probably related.

Such a wild take from Microsoft to say community servers are "illegal". Community servers help games stay alive.

@gooba42 Their community does have some pretty good athletes.

Rollercoaster Tycoon's dev coded the entire engine in x86 assembly. If that's not the dream of peak optimization, I don't know what is. #assembly #gamedev

Apparently millions of people have 123456 as a password. The second most common password is the more safe 123456789. Safer by an epsilon but still. #password #safety #statistics

I could probably bake an actual cake in the time it takes to bake a scene in Unity. #gamedev #unity

Solo tests are never as good as playtests. They bring out so many things you'd otherwise miss. #gamedev

At the end of the day, there's nothing more relaxing than when you get to sit back and enjoy your game in peace. #gaming #relax

It's really satisfying watching hundreds of NPCs running around with fervour, once you have an efficient horde mechanic that won't light your PC on fire. #gamedev #coding

Love the new look, been away for a bit so it came as a pleasant surprise. #mastodon

Success in bug-fixing is finding many, many new bug "friends" along the way. #programming

The fun part of vibecoding is all the extra work you have to do in order to fix all of the problems it causes. #programming #gamedev

@zombiewarrior@techhub.social Fair point. It's very fun, albeit inefficient in most serious cases. I'm really curious if someone has ever tackled a big project successfully with just pure vibe coding.

CSS looks deceptively simple. Until you decide to position things. Good luck. #css #programming #webdev

@fixatedpersonsunit Chrome is awful. There are way better browsers out there as I found out.

Ubuntu. Please. I don't want snaps. Everytime I install Ubuntu after some time I feel like the kid getting forcefed brocollis in a family dinner. I get that it's healthier but let us get to that point ourselves. It's Linux, I just want some flatpaks by default.
