This is my comment for #alto public feedback page: I understand the concerns some people have about the project, they're totally valid, but we need to consider the broader context. Not building a HSR system means we continue building new highways, widening existing ones, endless suburban sprawl, bigger and louder airports, and continuing to turn high value farmland into walmart parking lots. @notjustbikes just watched your great video about Google Maps sucking at bike navigation in Europe. Wanted to add that is also sucks for regular driving navigation in North America too. Maybe it just sucks in general? It regularly recommends a “faster route” that involves turning left from a side street across a six lane megastroad, often with a concrete median. Going for a drive in the country in January? It knows a faster route (by 1 minute) that takes you down a gravel road that hasn’t be...

No other nation has ever, and probably will ever, build as dangerous and terrifying of a surveillance apparatus as the nexus of #Ring #flock and #Palantir. And now it’s in the hands of the most dangerous regime since 1945. We saw this coming. And we couldn’t stop it. I don’t know what happens next, but this is very bad.
