I’m not exactly sure how to present on this, I’m a weird lil guy who likes weird lil things. Do I use hashtags? Is it okay to talk back to people? Do I drop art cold? https://linktr.ee/naim_not_name

I guess this is my opening salvo against the general Moloch, I see in the world. I opened a Substack, and I’d really appreciate it if you gave it a read. Not just out of ego, but connection. https://naimnotname.substack.com/p/the-actual-problem-in-the-world-that #PersonalEssay #SocialCriticism #ClassConsciousness #EconomicAnxiety #LateStageCapitalism #TraumaRecovery

Sometimes in my more melancholy moments, I just keep thinking, why do I want it so badly? And the answer is that I don’t see any other way of life that would make me satisfied with it. “But you’re shouting out into the void and you’re a niche creator, why?” Because I think my brain needs to be and go everywhere it can. “But no one’s listening.” Yes, you are right. No one’s listening. And that’s my snake eating itself. Yum.

Over the past week, I think my cadre of friends dropped from five or so to basically none. I have my wife. I have family, but man oh fucking man is that not an option. I don’t (really) have my wife’s family. I just have…me. And that feels like the worst hell on the planet. I really don’t think I’m going to be a person for people, I suppose. I try real hard and love hard. I try to mean my word. But I’m simply a utility and a mark. A mark for a happy ending, because I thought I deserved that.
