anyone got experience or recommendations in (visibly or not) mending leather furniture? looking to put some visible patches over some holes in a couch, what i actually find are dubious patches that will probably look awful. any idea what's good for backing material or to sit on, or should i go diving into the fabric scraps bin?

thinking about how if a raindrop falls in one place on Sheridan Road it will end up in the sewer system, discharge into the Chicago River, flow southwest down the Mississippi, and in about three months find itself in the Gulf of Mexico; and if it falls in a slightly different place it will slide down the beach into the Lake and spend the next 130 years traveling northeast to the Gulf of St. Lawrence

Request for Comment - i want to make the Becky Stern/Adafruit "Ohm Sweet Ohm" cross stitch resistor chart, except i'm not really into the sampler aesthetic, so tonight i was screwing around with various weights for circuit diagram borders and pcb trace corners. The diagram and the remaining reference flower border are from the original pattern (and will get backstitch lettering, not pictured). What works, what doesn't? #crossstitch

want to make some wall shelves, figured i would check out the creative reuse space in Evanston for some boards that might be better than whatever Home Depot bins. nope! closed! because they had a federal grant that got stolen back!
