Not sure if ADHD or 2026
This just happened and I’m not certain if this was a fair dismissal of a YouTube ad manifesting itself as ethanol or if my neurospicy just fired a nuke at Israel… Liqueur girls slinging free jager shots at the bar: “want a shot?” Me: ….no. I’m here to escape the capitalism. Go away. Bartender: -glares- wut? Liqueur girls: are you serious? Me: I know what this is. You are working girls, just not the kind akron appreciates. I enjoy the product, but not the promotion. Please go away....

Wayland headless multi seat?
I’d like to try to get fedora to host a second headless Wayland session in the background for a remote user. I have a GPU but I want to share its render and compute, not the physical HDMI output, so I need a virtual Wayland session for the second seat. Supposedly logind could handle the seat and udev permission issues clean enough, but headless use is still beyond me there. I’d like a KDE Plasma environment running headless and then sunshine can just stream this session out using the war ca...

Rsync each week changes to a network share with an A/B layout, switching backup targeted back and forth each week. Something breaks? Remote in, rsync back, by the time you get home from work it’ll be back as it was and running already.

You can incentivize or gamify standards adherence that leads to better performance but that was never the priority there and it’s not what people cared for anyway. It was a social thing with the most bizarre griefing. I miss the days of orbit cages, grey-goo reproducing bouncing dicks, the crowded hubs with devastating shade even a coked up drag queen would argue went too far, breaking into intricately protected properties by sitting in a cube you built in a neighboring lot and dragged over, j...

Pray tell, what is more urgent than respect for your fellow human beings right to exist?

No, it was a bad show, but it was bad in an enjoyable way. It was aqua teen trash. We all love aqua teen but we aren’t watching it looking for philosophical lessons are deeper meaning. We watch be because we are stoned and judge Judy isn’t on.

It’s serving different pressures. Woz served the makers, the needs. He’s the Adam Savage of that generation. Jobs is a techbro. He’s innit for the money. He doesn’t care how or why it does a thing. He just needs to jerk off the investors. He was incredibly skilled at what he did, don’t get me wrong. He was absolutely brilliant there. But they served different masters.

Regulations used to exist to break that that behavior. But they were either removed over time or not enforced. It can be done. It used to be. It wasn’t flawless but it wasn’t what we have today either.

You can chip away at power structures and resist them. You still lose but leave them weakened and more vulnerable to the next to challenge them. Eventually they fall. If you comply instead, you strengthen the power structures that do harm anyway. The only rational move is to resist.

This honestly seems like the most practical outcome. It solves the problem. It’s not like they have family that are gonna care for these fucking Nazis when they’re dead. Turn them to ash and throw them in the junkyard with the car.

I like the idea of a continuum capable module desktop like canonical and Microsoft promised years ago.

Intentionally non-standard hardware does not get a real custom rom. It’s just a mod of Android which Google can render intentionally incompatible any time they want

Apple plays the long game. They know the regime is temporary. The marketing stat bonus they will get for defying trumps regime will get them much more than selling out to him now. They will outlast him. Their motives aren’t pure but they are compatible with capitalism and pig fuckery at the same time here.

I have been plying with hcopy but its giving me backtalk over syntax. It’s whining about what it find s being directories. Yea, that why I passed -r to copy recursively. it just responds by saying thats a directory and not copying anything. I cant figure out what iocharset is wants for normal mount options so it can copy some things that way but not others. Also, again, this is HFS, not HFS+.

copying off an CD burned on a mac long ago...
I have some old HFS formatted burned CDs burning in toast on a classic mac. A friend needs his stuff moved off these backups onto his NAS but his modern mac cannot read these CDs. I can mount them in linux manually but the filenames have illegal characters so I cannot copy them over to anything without losing like half of them.

It’s cardboard, not depleted uranium. How the fuck is it so dangerous I must dispose of it if damaged? The entire point of the product is for the furry psychopath that lives with me to damage it. It literally has no other reason to exist.
