    Sunday afternoon project: I&amp;#39;ve often wanted a virtual keyboard for the C64 and VIC-20 in Vice, so I spent some time learning the source layout and made one. It&amp;#39;s selectable from the menu. The PETSCII layout still needs some work, but it&amp;#39;s coming along. My GTK UI in C was a little rusty, but I eventually got the hang of it.

    I let a Commodore 64 run for three and a half days straight. 87 billion instructions, 303 billion clock cycles, 5.9 million candidate settings tested. It cracked an Enigma message in German without knowing a single character of the plaintext.
