  Yesterday in Porto, I had booked a private guided bike tour of the coastline from the port to the mouth of the Douro river. Somehow, I didn't fully grasp what "private" meant. I was expecting to be part of a group. Instead, I had my own personal guide for 2.5 hours, which was pretty cool.   While I was engrossed in my audio book, this guy parked himself a couple of feet away from me to share my patch of shade. Not sure when he showed up, but he hung out there for at least a half hour after I noticed.

  I was lucky enough to see today's total eclipse from just off the coast of northern Spain. What an incredible experience. Pictures don't do it justice. It was cloudier than I would have hoped, but still spectacular. The video is double speed. Apologies for the chaotic framing. I don't use that gimbal enough to remember how all the controls work.

  The Heathrow departures board is weird. Fllight begins boarding at 17:20. "We'll tell you your gate at 17:15." "Also, it'll take 20 minutes to walk there from here."

  Long travel days are long. Woke up at 6:45am in the UK. Got home in Los Angeles at 11:00pm, a little over 24 hours later, and 90 minutes after that, I'm still awake. Ugh.
